My advice would be to love the language and to have a passion to learn it not just because you feel that you are obliged to do it. To me, learning a new language, for instance, as for my case, Japanese language, was actually a key for me to open the hearts of locals here in Japan to understand their culture and way of thinking which indeed has much benefited me. In the same way, if you have the passion to learn it in that way, I believe such would be a great motivation instead of just having to have the thought that you have to strive hard just to master the language, Another one would put yourself in an English speaking environment which means studies abroad would be a very efficient way to master English.

Listen to English TV programs, songs, etc. Read the same text, first in English then in Japanese. Speak in English as much as you can. Don't be afraid of making mistakes! If there are no mistakes, there is no progress. Do your best, it's worth the effort!

Try to read and listen to as much English as you possibly can. Speaking is always very difficult, but once you have listened or read enough English, it becomes more boring and simple and thus easier to speak. You may have to look up the same word many times, but that's normal, don't get discourage.

What I understood about Japanese and their ability of learning English during this one year is that they can be good at grammar and vocabularies but the problem is with speaking and pronunciation. I even have met some Japanese who completely understand what I say but can not reply perfectly though they've studied English for a long time. The problem is because of the different frequency of the vowels in different language. The frequency of vowels in English are much more higher than the ones in Japanese. To learn how to pronounce them my idea is this: You should listen to the correct pronunciation a lot and be patient until you get the results. It's how I learned Japanese, even the new words. I remember the ones which I learned them through the conversations better than the ones I studied and tried to memorize them. This method takes longer time to learn English but the result is incredible. So make your mind right now, and start listening to CDs and watching movies in English since today.
日本人にとって英語の文法や単語を覚えるのはあまり難しくないですけど発音またはしゃべるのは大変です。これは英語と日本語では音の周波数が違うからです。しかし努力によってだれでも英語の母音を発音できるはずです。もし皆さんが正しい発音を聞いて、たくさん耳に入れたら、自分でもだんだん発音できるようになります。会話を通して言語を学ぶのは一番役に立つ方法だと思います。この方法によって、英会話を習うのは長い時間がかかりますがその結果はすばらしいです。英会話が出来るようになることを目指して、今日からCDを聞いたり映画を見たりして頑張って下さい。

There are about five steps to be a good English speaker. Here, I will say only the first step. The first step is you have to listen to English as much as possible. It may sound obvious, but this is the most important factor to speak English fluently. You must know how they pronounce, how they speak. And, you have to pay attention to their intonation. This can be found out through listening to English. That's why this is the first step to speak fluent English. But there is a certain way in listening to English. If I am your teacher, I will tell you about it.

As with just about any journey, the first steps in learning English are always the hardest. You shouldn't expect to make much progress in the beginning but as time passes, you will realize that your effort is not in vain. Furthermore, English is a language created by people for people. There is no math to it and phrases mechanically doesn't help much. It really doesn't matter whether the grammar is perfect or not. All that matters is to be able to communicate. Then rest will come naturally. Finally, the most important thing is to ENJOY learning English. Don't think of it as a barrier but as gateway to the rest of the world.

English can be a deceiving fellow sometimes. I don't think that the language is either easy or hard. Naturally, some people learn it fast, and some people take a little more time to master it. Given the enormous differences between English and Japanese, I could say that learning it should be a job for a genius. But no, I disagree. There are many Japanese people speaking English as there are many noon-Japanese people speaking Japanese around the globe, and I cannot force myself to believe that some people were born to learn how to communicate and some other weren't. A very good dose of effort and confidence can make all the difference and that's what I want to supply my students with.
英語と日本語の違いは多いです。と言っても、英語圏の人で日本語が話せる人がたくさんいて、日本人で英会話が話せる人も多いです。外国語を身に付けるのは絶対無理なことではないと思います。が、簡単にできることでもないです。外国語を学ぶ人に必要なものは努力と忍耐です。努力があれば、続けることができます。忍耐があれば、難しいところ、問題を乗り越える姿勢が作れます。私は、生徒たちに動機付けを与えて、自信を持たせ、教師として、生徒たちの成長の道具になりたいと思います。

And how to behave in public transportation as a Gaijin and what to do. “First: Read a Book, Second: play computer Games, Third: Stare at the advertisings in the train. Because most of Japanese people feel uncomfortable or avoid sitting near to the Gaijin/Foreigner/ simply because these people are shy and afraid to be asked on English” says the professor in the international university. and that where it starts Japanese people which would like to study foreign language require more conversations and improvement of their environment by getting to know or becoming friends with foreigners. And if you make mistakes during your conversations even better then these people will teach you or will help you to improve your languages. Remember there is never a stupid question but stupid answers and this phrase should encourage you to communicate more. 1-Practice makes perfect. Reading books and studying is very good, but the only way you will get an intuitive grasp of English is by practicing it with real people and forcing yourself into situations where you cannot use Japanese and have to communicate your meaning in English.
2- Do not be afraid. Everybody makes mistakes, so don't worry about that your first few months. While having correct grammar and syntax is important, being able to convey the correct meaning is more important at the initial stages. After you have gained experience in speaking freely and regularly in English, then your grammar and syntax will start correcting themselves naturally.
英会話が上手になるために一番大事なのは練習です。英会話は理論的なことではありません。具体的な練習だけで能力が上がります。最初に皆必ず間違ってるところがありますから、最初に英会話をするときは、正しい文法より一番大切なのは意味が通じることです。そして経験がどんどん集まったら、正しい文法が自然的に出てきます。

Learning a foreign language should be a fun thing and not very long process if it's done as a teamwork and continuously: little by little every day, and if you start stick to it for a longer period of time. Teamwork means students have to work with their foreign language teachers, ask them for advice, materials, tell them what they need. We learn different languages for different purposes: your teacher can help you get where you need faster. We learn every day: a word here, an expression there. Practice: everything we learn, we use by practicing not in front of the mirror but with real people, in real situations. Language use is related to context that means memorizing lists of words makes no sense unless we know how, where and when to use them. Language is music: because you don't live in the target language, your year needs to get used to the sound of it. Do listening exercises! Watch movies in the target language, listen to radio, listen to music! Language is culture: we need to understand the customs and the way of thinking of the people that speaks the target language. Every language has strong cultural connotations. Be sure you know where you're coming from to have a clearer direction of where you're getting; you need to know what exactly you want to achieve by learning that foreign language and how, be very honest with your teacher in that sense and you will be satisfied with the results.

1. Confidence: Any language is for communication. So do not merely focus on the grammar. Instead, believe that your conversation will be attractive even using some simple words and sentences. Actually foreigners do not care so much about grammar as we do.
2.Interest: This is the incentive for your effort. Besides learning the language itself, try to feel the culture inside of it. You certainly will find how fantastic learning a language is.
3.Preseverance: Learning language is like making friends. You should keep in touch or you will become distant. When you come to a bottle neck, don't be upset. One day you will find that you have made a great progress.

Studying a foreign language is always challenging. When learning a foreign language I personally begin with grammar to understand the differences and similarities between the foreign language and my native language. However, to develop speaking ability you need practice as much as possible. Don't be afraid of making mistakes in the beginning. Remember that it is not your native language and even native speakers do make mistakes. You also need to enrich your vocabulary. Books, songs and movies are of great help in this respect. Finally you must have a strong motivation to master the language. It may be studying abroad, academic or professional career, traveling or simply making new friends. 1. Set a goal -for ex.: learn 5 new words every day (as a source of words - read books or magazines in English);
2. Watch movies or TV programs in English (with Japanese subtitles), take note of the unknown words, translate and memorize them (also helps to get used to the grammar of the language;
3. try to keep a diary in English (write what happened every day in English, if you realize you can't express something because you don't know the words, find those words in a dictionary and memorize them.
言語との接触を守るために、授業の日だけではなくて、毎日英語で本や雑誌を読んだり、映画や番組を見たりする（それをやるときわからない言葉を見た場合、それを翻訳して覚える。希望を設定して、たとえば、毎日言葉５個覚える。英語で日記を書くこと。（そのとき、書きたいのに英語で知らない言葉に気づいた場合、この言葉を辞書で調べて覚える。）これをがんばって英会話ができるようになりましょう！！！

To become fluent in English, you need to surround yourself with an English environment that includes movies, books, music and others. In that way you will attain a natural feeling about the language. Also, when studying a language you need consistency, so I strongly recommend you to find a way to learn that you really like as a key to achieving your goal.

Do not be afraid of making mistakes. We learn a lot through them. Make a lot of mistakes and you will learn English much faster.
ミスしても大丈夫です。そのほうがむしろ英会話のいい勉強になるかもしれません。

It seems that there is only one way to become proficient in a foreign language: practice. If you would like to be able to read in English without effort, read as many diverse texts as possible: from fiction books to newspaper articles. An hour a day should be enough. If you would like to speak English fluently, talk with foreigners every time you get the chance. The topics do not matter, only the regular practice is important. You should not mind your mistakes, but the message you try to communicate. It seems better if you forget about the effort and regard speaking, reading, watching movies, and any other activity in English as entertainment and fun.
外国語をマスターするには「練習する」 以外に方法はないように思います。楽に英会話を読めるようになるには、できるだけ多くの、フィクションからニュース記事に至るまで、様々な英会話の文書を読みましょう。一日一時間で十分です。すらすらと英会話を話せるようになるには、機会がある度に外国人と話してみるようにしましょう。重要なのは話題ではなく、定期的に実践することです。間違いを気にする必要はありません。言いたいことを伝えようとすることが大切です。頑張るということを忘れてみましょう。英会話を話す・読む・英語の映画を観る等々、英会話を使うことに面白みを感じて楽しむことができると、とてもいいと思います。
